Advancing the case of the Millennium Development Goals

ActionAid is an international development agency whose aim is to fight poverty worldwide. In all of its country programmes it works with local partners to make the most of their knowledge and experience.

Bread for the World

Bread for the World is a nationwide Christian citizens movement seeking justice for the world's hungry people by lobbying decision makers in the United States of America.

DATA aims to raise awareness about, and spark response to the crises swamping Africa: unpayable Debts, uncontrolled spread of AIDS, and unfair trade rules which keep Africans poor.

CARE is one of the world's leading humanitarian organizations fighting global poverty through projects in agriculture and natural resources, economic development, education, food, health, water and sanitation, and emergency response.

The Earth Institute

The Earth Institute at Columbia University is the world's leading academic center for the integrated study of Earth, its environment and society. The Earth Institute builds upon excellence in the core disciplines-earth sciences, biological sciences, engineering sciences, social sciences and health sciences-and stresses cross-disciplinary approaches to complex problems. Through research, training and global partnerships, it mobilizes science and technology to advance sustainable development, while placing special emphasis on the needs of the world's poor.

Engineers Without Borders Canada
Engineers Without Borders Canada is an multiple-award winning aid organisation that enables poor communities around the world to improve their lives by helping them gain access to appropriate technologies. Our volunteers work overseas with partners, entrepreneurs, and communities to help them build capacity in areas like water and sanitation, agriculture and crop production, and rural energy and food processing. Closer to home, our 10,000 members undertake a number of outreach activities to promote global citizenship in Canada - which centers around how Canada can better help support the Millennium Development Goals.

Friends of the Global Fight
Friends of the Global Fight encourages public leadership to support the global fight, particularly the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis and Malaria. Friends also aims to mobilize the actions and contributions of private Americans, whose support can make a difference to millions and whose voice will underlie public commitments.

The Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria
The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria was created to dramatically increase resources to fight three of the world's most devastating diseases, and to direct those resources to areas of greatest need. As a partnership between governments, civil society, the private sector and affected communities, the Global Fund represents an innovative approach to international health financing.

InterAction is the largest alliance of US-based international development and humanitarian non-governmental organizations.

International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world's largest humanitarian organization that works to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity. Vulnerable people are those at greatest risk from situations that threaten their survival, or their capacity to live with an acceptable level of social and economic security and human dignity.

International Medical Corps.

International Medical Corps is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization that saves lives, relieves suffering and restores self-reliance through health care training and relief and development programs.

International Rescue Committee

Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is one of the world's largest nonsectarian, nonprofit organizations providing relief, rehabilitation, protection and resettlement services for refugees, displaced persons and victims of oppression.

International Union for the Conservation of Nature
IUCN works to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable.

Mercy Corps
Mercy Corps is a not-for-profit organization that exists to alleviate suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities.

Millennium Promise
Millennium Promise works with leading companies, non-governmental organizations, philanthropies, and millions of interested citizens, to unite efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in the world's poorest countries.

Oxfam America
Oxfam America helps poor and marginalized communities around the world harness economic opportunities and advocate for their rights (e.g., women's rights, labor rights, indigenous peoples' rights) through grant-making, campaigning, and emergency assistance.

Plan USA
Plan USA is a global partnership of caring people founded in 1937 to bring hope and help to the world's poorest children. Our community-based programs assist more than 10 million children in 45 developing countries.

is a nonprofit grassroots advocacy organization, committed to creating the political will to end hunger and the worst aspects of poverty.

Right to Play
Right To Play is a humanitarian organization using sport and play programs to encourage the healthy physical, social and emotional development of the worldís most disadvantaged children.

Save the Children
For more than 70 years, Save the Children has created real and lasting change for children in need in more than 40 countries around the globe, including the United States

Transparency International
Transparency International (TI) is the leading global non-governmental organisation devoted to combating corruption. TI has chapters in 92 countries on every continent.

Water Aid
WaterAid is an international NGO dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people.

The Wildlife Trust
The Wildlife Trust empowers local conservation scientists worldwide to protect nature and safeguard ecosystem and human health.

World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF)
The World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) helps advance the science and practice of agroforestry to transform the lives and landscapes of the rural poor in developing countries by improving security in food, nutrition, income, health, shelter and energy and a regenerated environment.

World Concern
A Christian humanitarian organization that provides emergency relief and community development in some of the most neglected areas of the world.

World Vision
World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty.
